“All art originates from a simple idea”

Artist's Statement "All art begins as a single idea. The more complicated the idea becomes, the more art begins to unravel. My art should be nothing more than a simple statement; a detail unnoticed by most, a moment, captured by my camera or the blink of my eye, or perhaps nothing more than a mood held together by the balance of color, shape, and line. From this, no one should assume my art is simple. The simplicity of the initial idea belies the complexity of composition and design. And therein lies the beauty of my work." Mark Hoppmann
